Energy Minister Petkova, Total Representatives Sign Annex to Oil and Gas Exploration in Black Sea

Sofia, June 15 (BTA) - Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova and representatives of Total E&P Bulgaria, OMV Offshore Bulgaria and Repsoil Bulgaria B.V. have signed an annex to the agreement for natural gas and oil exploration, the ministry said Thursday.

The annex settles the extension of the agreement. The ministry recalls that the term for exploration in Khan Asparouh Bloc, north of Silistar, was extended by 135 days on April 18 this year.

Petkova assured that the exploration of local energy resources will continue as it will guarantee the competitiveness of Bulgaria. The ministry and the company will continue to communicate, she added.

An Almanach of the Black Sea developed by Total, OMV Petrol and Repsoil was presented at the meeting. It was drafted in partnership with the Institute of Oceanography of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
