site.btaIvan Ivanov Takes Over as New Regional Development Minister

Ivan Ivanov took over as the new Minister of Regional Development and Public Works  from his predecessor Violeta Koritarova. She handed the Ivanov the symbolic key to the Ministry and presented him with an icon of St.Demetrius, who is the patron saint of builders. 

Koritarova wished Minister Ivanov completion of the important infrastructure projects. 

For his part, Minister Ivanov said that his priority in his work will be to make even more progress on key infrastructure projects, as well as to seek a solution to the water shortage crisis.

In a report on her work, the outgoing caretaker minister wrote that her top priority was to participate in the conduct of fair and transparent elections. The necessary road infrastructure had been provided in connection with Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area. The report highlights a total of nine main priorities on which the Ministry's team has worked, including the emergency measures taken to combat water shortages in the country.
