Incoming Youth and Sports Minister Ivan Peshev took over office from caretaker Sports Minister Georgi Glushkov on Thursday.
Peshev stressed that Glushkov did a very good job with the extremely important task of restoring peace, and leading Bulgarian sport through the important past Olympic year. He also congratulated the Bulgarian athletes who were a source of national pride.
"I believe that together with the Bulgarian sports community, the presidents of the federations, clubs, coaches and athletes, we will work together for the good of Bulgarian sport. We will work for the development of children's and youth and mass sports, which are very important for the health of our nation. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am convinced that we will succeed," said the new Minister.
Glushkov thanked his team for the good work in recent months. He wished success to Minister Ivan Peshev and expressed confidence that the regular Bulgarian government will stabilize the country and work for the development of sports.
