There will be consistency and continuity in the work and policies in education and science, Education and Science Minister Krasimir Valchev said Thursday after taking over the post from his predecessor, Prof. Galin Tsokov, the Ministry’s press centre said.

"There are a lot of tasks ahead of us, and together we must get as much work done as possible in a short amount of time," Valchev added. He noted that "education is the largest public system," adding that it requires teamwork and task prioritization. "I know the ministry and the people there, and I know how much we can do together," said Valchev, assuming the role of Education and Science Minister for the second time.

Outgoing caretaker minister Prof. Galin Tsokov praised Valchev for "consistently advocating policies in support of the education system" as chairperson of the National Assembly’s Committee on Education and Science.

At the end of the changing of the guard ceremony, Tsokov and Valchev symbolically rang a school bell, which traditionally marks the handing over of the post in the Ministry.
