site.btaSofia Municipal Council Suspends Two Lines of Night Public Transport

The Sofia Municipal Council on Thursday decided to suspend two night transport service lines (No. 3 and No. 4), while two other lines (No. 1 and No. 2) will run only on Friday and Saturday nights. The proposal of municipal councilors Vanya Grigorova and Carlos Contrera was accepted with 30 votes in favour and 25 against.

The decision was taken in order to ease the load on both the drivers and the rolling stock of Sofia's public transport. "The night service in Sofia is the premature child of Save Sofia. I completely understand the reluctance of the parent to admit that the child has disabilities," said Grigorova, pointing out that lines No. 3 and No. 4 are literally not used by the residents of Sofia.

Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (Save Sofia) Chair Boris Bonev promised that there will still be night public transport in the capital, regardless of the sabotage of the majority in the Sofia Municipal Council.
