site.btaFrom April, Wizz Air Starts Regular Direct Flights from Varna to Leipzig
Starting from April, the airline Wizz Air will operate regular direct flights from Varna to Leipzig, Germany, the company's press office said on Thursday. The flights will operate twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays - all year round. Tickets are now on sale on the airline's website and mobile app. "Wizz Air will be the only airline offering scheduled direct flights to Leipzig from the maritime capital,” the airline said.
The carrier informed that since its first flight from Sofia to Budapest in 2005, Wizz Air has carried nearly 30 million passengers to and from Bulgaria. The company operates a network of nearly 50 low-cost routes from Bulgaria, including 13 from Varna, the statement added.
In 2025, for the first time in the history of Varna Airport, direct flights from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to the seaside city will begin, the press centre of the airport's concessionaire company, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management JSC, said in December. They will be operated three times a week. During the year, Wizz Air will launch a total of four new routes. In addition to Abu Dhabi, there will also be flights to Frankfurt-Hahn and Nuremberg (Germany), as well as to Tel Aviv (Israel). The new routes will open in April. Flights to destinations in Germany will be three times a week and to Israel four times a week.
