The new Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov accepted the post from outgoing caretaker minister Petar Dimitrov at a ceremony at the Ministry here on Thursday, Genov's Ministry said.

Petar Dimitrov handed over the post to Manol Genov with the message that environmental protection is a cause.

Manol Genov took office pledging to work at an accelerated pace on the most urgent tasks ahead. "I have always been under the impression that the Ministry of Environment and Water has specialists with good expertise. We are going to raise the level of this expertise in the future and be even more expeditious. We are an administration that should be for the benefit of the people. That is why they pay taxes, so that we can serve them on time and with quality," Genov said.
