Record-low Temperatures Measured in Northern Bulgaria

Rousse/Silistra, on the Danube, January 20 (BTA) - Record-low temperatures were recorded in places in Northern Bulgaria on Wednesday morning,

Records of the Meteorological Observatory in Silistra from 8 am showed minus 19C in Glavinitsa and minus 16.4C in Alfatar. Previously, the lowest temperatures for January 20 were recorded in 1995 with minus 13.5C in Glavinitsa and minus 15.6C in Alfatar.

The temperature in Rousse at 8 am was minus 16.9C, according to the local hydrometeorological station. The previous record for the day was measured in 1977 when it was minus 15.6C.

The water temperature of Danube was 1.8C.
