Justice Minister Tsacheva Acquaints Justice
Commissioner with Bulgarian Priorities
in Forthcoming EU Presidency

Luxembourg/Sofia, June 9 (BTA) - Justice Minister Tsetska
Tsacheva Friday met with the Commissioner for Justice, Consumers
and Gender Equality, Vera Jourova, the Justice Ministry said.
Tsacheva acquainted Commissioner Jourova with Bulgaria's
preparations for the forthcoming Presidency of the Council of
the European Union.

She pointed out that the adoption of Regulation Brussels IIa in
relation to parental responsibility and the return of children
abducted by a parent will be one of the priorities of the
Bulgarian Presidency. The others are economic growth, cohesion
and e-justice.

Jourova expressed satisfaction with Bulgaria's consistent
support of EC legislative initiatives, as well as readiness to
visit Bulgaria in the second half of 2017 to discuss the
priorities of the European Union and the forthcoming Bulgarian
Presidency.

Tsacheva also said that the most important priority in the field
of criminal law for Bulgaria now is still the
institutionalization of the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
"From the very beginning we have supported the establishment of
a strong, integrated European prosecution office to raise
charges against fraud involving European funds. We are pleased
that the prolonged negotiations result in a united approach to
the text," she added.

Tsacheva invited Jourova to organize a working meeting dedicated
to this issue during Bulgaria's Presidency.
