Sofia, June 2 (BTA) - The Trade Union Federation of Interior Ministry Employees insists that the ministry's budget for 2018 should not be reduced but should be increased drastically, the TU said Friday. The largest trade union in the field also want this year's budget of the Interior Ministry to be updated.

These are just part of the urgent measures that have to be undertaken to guarantee the security of Bulgarian citizens, the trade union said. The recently launched ideas for reform can literally blow up the security system. They are not only risky, but they also do not show a state approach to public order and security. The objective of such measures is not to guarantee the basic needs of the public to be protected in a member-state about to take up the CoE Presidency but to fill in budget gaps.

The trade union demands immediate raise of basic salaries by at least 15 per cent as of July 1, 2017. Otherwise they will protest in front of Parliament./BR/
