Prime Minister Borissov: GERB Has Not Withdrawn Its Trust in President Plevneliev
Veliko Turnovo, North Central Bulgaria, January 24 (BTA) - GERB has not withdrawn its trust in President Rosen Plevneliev, who can once again be nominated by the party, Prime Minister and GERB leader Boyko Borissov said here Sunday. Borissov noted that his party might also nominate women for the presidential elections this autumn.
Commenting on the possibility of holding presidential and early general elections together, the PM said that now is a good time for this because GERB's government has shown very good financial and economic indices and there is no one who can come out for a political debate. He recalled that, according to data of the European Commission, Bulgaria is second in the EU in terms of growth.
According to Borissov, if the no-confidence motion against the Government gets supported, it is logical that the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria form a government.
On January 21, the parliamentary groups of BSP-Left Bulgaria and the MRF agreed that the planned no-confidence motion against the Cabinet will be themed around healthcare.
