site.btaDRF Floor Leader Chakarov Describes Supporting Regular Government as Nationally Responsible Position

Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) will support a regular government because that is the nationally responsible position at the moment, its Floor Leader Dzhevdet Chakarov said Thursday in Parliament during the discussion on the Zhelyazkov cabinet. 

"It is high time to end political instability through a cabinet structured transparently on the basis of principles, priorities and concrete goals. We believe that a regular government will put an end to the political crisis and to the other crises it has caused," Chakarov said. He argued that by electing a regular government the degree of public tension would be lowered - another election would lead to an even greater withdrawal of people from the political process, which would negatively affect the entire political system and representative democracy in general, Chakarov added. 

"We managed to achieve transparency of the DRF's participation as part of the majority and the regulation of our support in an annex to the coalition agreement between GERB-UDF, BSP - United Left and There Is Such a People. There is a need for political stability in order to start solving the concrete problems that have remained unresolved for three years because of the electoral spiral in which Bulgaria has been spinning for three years," he added.
