Report on 2015 State of National Security to Be Presented in Parliament by Early March

Sofia, January 15 (BTA) - A draft annual report on the state of Bulgaria's national security in 2015 is being drafted and it will be presented in the National Assembly by early March, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during Question Time in Parliament Friday. He was replying to a question by Stanislav Stanilov MP of Ataka.

Borissov said that the Executive's institutions constantly coordinate their work and carry out the necessary contacts at all levels. The operational cooperation is being strengthened in protecting the borders and countering illegal migration, he added.

In his words, it is important that the report offer measures for improvement. He put an emphasis on the laws concerning the judicial power, which are to be debated in Parliament. "This is the time for the National Assembly to support, through voting, these laws and rules that regulate processes disliked by all of us," Borissov said, giving pending legal cases as an example.

During Thursday's debate in Parliament on the amendments to the Armed Forces Act, Stanilov criticized several governments for failing to table a national security and defence report for seven years.
