Bulgarians expect a real political alternative to oppose the mutual whitewashing and indulgence of corruption scandals, which will bring back normality and the European perspective for Bulgaria, President Rumen Radev told journalists on Monday during a visit to the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology INSAIT at Sofia University (INSAIT).

“Currently, they are using a well-known technique - when after mutual whitewashing you cannot get rid of the heavy corruption legacy and when there are real corruption scandals, they create fake ones,” Radev said. Asked whether he would spearhead the creation of a political project Radev said that if he gave his confidence to any political formation, he would state it himself to the media. Radev said that "the situation is such that the emergence of an alternative is inevitable".

“I will act according to the Constitution,” the head of State replied to a question about the upcoming rotation of the post of prime minister between Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel.
