GERB Floor Leader Tsvetanov Confers with EC Vice President Dombrovskis

Brussels, June 26 (BTA) - GERB Floor Leader and Deputy Chairman Tsvetan Tsvetanov held a working meeting with European Commission Vice-President for the Euro and Social Dialogue, also in charge of Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, Valdis Dombrovskis, GERB's information service said.

They conferred within the framework of the 25th summit of EPP party floor leaders in national parliaments and the European Parliament in Brussels.

Tsvetanov acquainted Dombrovskis with details of the recent meeting between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, as well as Borissov's meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. The Commissioner praised the Bulgarian government and Borissov for their determined action to join the euro area. He reiterated the European Commission support for Bulgaria, which he also expressed during his visit to Sofia about ten days ago. In addition, the Commissioner said the decision on Bulgaria's accession is in the hands of the European Central Bank and the Member States, therefore Bulgarian officials' meetings with ministers are really important.
