Miroslav Borshosh to Be Reinstated as Head of Sofia's NDK Convention Centre

Sofia, June 27 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held a meeting here on Tuesday with Minister of the Bulgarian EU Presidency in 2018 Liliyana Pavlova, Culture Minister Boil Banov and the recently dismissed Executive Director of the NDK Convention Centre, Miroslav Borshosh, Cabinet's press service reported.

The meeting focused on the work of NDK's leadership and cleared up the controversies surrounding the Convention Centre's management.

Borissov will submit during Wednesday's Council of Ministers' meeting a proposal to transfer NDK's management from Pavlova's Ministry to the Ministry of Culture, as well as to reinstate Borshosh as NDK's Executive Director and member of its Board of Directors.

Pavlova dismissed Borshosh from the post on Monday over alleged systematic noncompliance with instructions from the NDK owner and with decisions by the NDK Board of Directors. The order further said that Borshosh's actions had put to question the sound financial management of the convention centre and
jeopardized the ongoing refurbishment of the NDK building to make it suitable for the needs of the EU Presidency.

Borshosh was to be replaced by Borislav Velkov, who has to date sat on the NDK Board of Directors.
