Interior Minister Radev Confers with German Counterpart Thomas de Maiziere
Sofia/Berlin, June 27 (BTA) - Interior Minister Valentin Radev paid a working visit to Germany and conferred on Tuesday with German counterpart Thomas de Maiziere, the Radev's Ministry reported.
The two ministers agreed on the significance of borders for Europe's security. Thomas de Maiziere noted Bulgaria's important role for protecting the EU's external borders. Radev in turn thanked for the support for receiving 160 million euro for border protection and informed his German counterpart about the money's absorption.
The future Bulgarian EU Presidency was also on the meeting's agenda. Minister Radev introduced his German counterpart with the Bulgarian Government's priorities during the EU Presidency, which include the fight against corruption and organized crime, human trafficking and illegal migration. "We will be uncompromising towards all manifestations of corruption," Radev told Thomas de Maiziere.
