site.btaRegional Development Ministry Proposes One day Vignette for Cars

The introduction of one-day vignettes for cars of up to 3.5 tonne using the national road network is proposed by the Regional Development Ministry in a bill amending and supplementing the Road Act. The measure implements the requirements of Eurovignette Directive (EU) 2022/362 of the European Parliament and of the Council of February 24 2022. 

Changes are also envisaged in the methodology for setting the tolls payable by heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. In accordance with the requirements of the Directive, charges will be differentiated according to the environmental characteristics of the vehicles. Thus, the toll price per kilometre will be determined not only according to the category and number of axles of the vehicle and the EURO emission class, but also according to the CO2 emission class of the vehicle.

An amendment to the toll tariffs for the use and passage of the national road network will be made within 6 months from the entry into force of the law.
