site.btaCabinet Approves Draft Protocol on Application of European Community-Ukraine Agreement on Readmission of Persons

At its meeting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers approved a draft protocol between the Government of Bulgaria and Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on the application of the Agreement between the European Community and Ukraine on the readmission of persons. The draft protocol is a continuation of the Agreement, signed in Luxembourg on June 18, 2007, the Government Information Service reported.

The document determines the competent bodies and the communication between them within the procedures for reviewing requests and handing persons subject to readmission.

The bodies competent to apply the agreement are Bulgaria's Interior Ministry and State Migration Service, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
