Turkiye is ready to support Syria during the transition period. This was announced on Monday by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara at the opening of the annual conference of the country's ambassadors abroad, Turkish media reported.

"A new era has begun in Syria. Now we need to focus on the future and not look back. In this new age, we want to see Syria as a country where different ethnic and religious groups live in peace," Fidan said.

"We want to see a new Syria that will have good relations with its neighbours and contribute to peace and stability in our region. We stand ready to provide the support needed to make this happen. We believe that the Syrian people will also benefit from this golden opportunity," the Turkish Foreign Minister was quoted as saying by CNN-Turk.
