Cartoons by Zhivko Tenev - Gissen have been selected to participate in the International Boyabat Academy Sports Club International Cartoon Competition in Turkiye, the Gissen team said on Wednesday.

"The goal of the event was to give young people from the country and the world the opportunity to create works that reflect the concept of Earthquake with the effective language of cartooning, which is the art of reflecting the topic in a striking, critical, humorous and thought-provoking language", the team said.

According to them, the idea is to draw the attention of young people around the world to the problem of earthquakes, which from time to time cause suffering in Turkiye and the world, as well as to raise awareness about earthquakes through the language of art.

Zhivko Tenev - Gissen has been an editorial artist at the news site Antenna Air since its founding 20 years ago. Previously, he published his cartoons in the newspapers Anteni, Pulse, Shipka and Demokratsia, among others. He has won awards for his works at international exhibitions in Italy, Syria, China and South Korea.

The exhibition in Turkiye is organized by the Boyabat Youth Centre.
