"The budget, after what I heard about pensions, the police, the military, the municipalities, I will support it, but I have proposals to make between the first and the second reading," Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning (MRF-New Beginning) Floor Leader Delyan Peevski told journalists in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

He added: "Everything in the budget that is for the people, they can count [on my support]."

Discussing the planned euro changeover in Bulgaria, Peevski called for a campaign to help people understand what the euro is all about. "It should be explained to the people that Bulgaria will become more stable after joining the eurozone, but nothing is being done on the matter. The campaign should start today, otherwise there will be big trouble after accession, because profiteers will abuse the people," he said.

MRF-New Beginning will move for waiving the immunity of MPs Dzheyhan Ibryamov and Mario Rangelov of Democracy, Rights and Freedoms – MRF, Peevski said.

Late in January, the National Assembly defeated an earlier motion to strip Ibryamov and Rangelov of immunity.
