site.btaPhoto Festival in Sofia to Present Artworks of 37 Artists from 17 Countries


The 13th edition of the Phodar international photo contest will take place between March 4 and April 6 at the National Art Gallery Palace in Sofia. The curators of the event are Nadezhda Pavlova and Antoan Bozhinov, and the 2025 edition marks its 25th anniversary.
According to the organizers, the festival is attracting increasing interest, with 801 applicants from 81 countries in 2025. The international jury selected the artworks of 37 artists from 17 countries for the exhibition.
On March 4, the artistic director of the festival will present the competition results to the media. During the official opening ceremony, the winners in the "Grand Prize", "Humanitarian Photography Award", and "Debut Award" categories will be announced.
The exhibition programme includes a theoretical seminar on March 11, featuring experts from the humanities and visual arts, representatives of academic institutions, galleries, NGOs, and photographers. On March 16, there will be a tour of the exhibition with the curator and founder of the festival, Antoan Bozhinov.
