The passengers carried by passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) decreased by 6.6%, while the transport performance rose by 1.6% due to an increase in international carriages and the average distance travelled respectively.
In the third quarter of 2024, compared to the previous quarter, there was a decrease in both freight transported (by 2.7%) and work performed (by 10.2%). Passengers carried and work done by passenger transport grew by 2.5% and 9.6% respectively.

The goods transported by sea and inland waterway transport were 39,800 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2024 more than in the fourth quarter of 2023, due to the greater volumes of goods carried by inland waterway transport.
The transport performance, measured in tonne-kilometres, increased by 20.0% on the same period of the previous year due to the greater distance travelled.
The number of transported passengers by land transport was 84,589,400, or 3.7% down on the fourth quarter of 2023. Bus and rail passenger numbers decreased by 3.6% and 5.4%, respectively. Тhere was a decline of 400 passengers in the number of transported passengers by water transport, compared to the same period of 2023, due to the smaller number of passengers carried by inland waterway and sea transport. Meanwhile, the transport performance increased by 1.2% as a result of the greater average distance
travelled.
The number of passengers carried by land transport increased by 10.4% and the work done by 5.9%. In the case of passenger water transport, the number of passengers carried decreased by 8,700 passengers and the work done decreased by 3.9%.
