Bulgaria ranks second to last in the EU in 2024 in terms of the share of users of electronic administrative services, the Statistical Office of the European Commission (Eurostat) reported on its website on Wednesday. Bulgaria (31.5%) had the second lowest share of individuals who interacted with a public authority online in the last 12 months after Romania (25.3%), while Italy (55.1%) had the third lowest share.
In 2024, 70.0% of people aged 16-74 in the EU stated that they had used a website or an app of a public authority in the previous 12 months, which is a slight increase of 0.7 percentage points compared with 2023 (69.3%).
The share varied greatly among EU countries, with highest shares recorded in Denmark (98.5%), the Netherlands (96.0%) and Finland (95.4%).
