The delay in the national program for the rehabilitation of residential buildings, which we inherited, makes its full implementation impossible, as it is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Ivanov told a news briefing at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

"We are not talking about completed reforms, but rather about the result of criminal negligence and disregard, which has led to a delay of about 15 months," said Ivanov. He assured that the team at the ministry is working in emergency mode. According to him, whatever is possible from the first part of the program will be salvaged, but it is impossible for the second part to be implemented with funds from the RRP.

There is readiness for the second part of the program to be financed under the state budget, the Minister added.
