Negotiations are ongoing, we have shared views, the talks are constructive, of course we have differences and that is why we need the negotiations. This is what outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel told journalists after the end of the consultations between GERB-UDF and President Rumen Radev on forming a government.

Negotiations with CC-DB started over the weekend.

In Gabriel's words, they are necessary so that the differences can be overcome and the chances they give each other are on a very solid basis - transparency, a clear decision-making mechanism.

She pointed out that GERB-UDF had proposed an agreement for joint governance with CC-DB.

Gabriel described the tone of the negotiations over the weekend as constructive but added that they needed some more time. Everybody has a clear document, it is important now to work on a common text, it is important to give ourselves a chance to continue the constructive spirit of the negotiations as it has been so far.

"You have not heard me talking about "red lines", I will not change my vocabulary," Gabriel replied to a question whether there are any between the negotiating parties. Dialogue, very clear responsibility, commitment, and the possibility to control what is decided is a guiding principle, she added.
