Renowned Ceramicist Presents Folklore-Inspired Vessels in New Exhibition

Renowned ceramicist Evgenia Georgieva presents a new collection of her signature vessels at an exhibition in the Oreshak National Craft Centre near Troyan, North-Central Bulgaria. The exhibition opened Friday.

On display are 73 vessels inspired by Bulgarian folklore, traditional costumes, embroidery and the Glagolitic letters.

"The exhibition is a return to my roots," Georgieva said. She was inspired by the shapes and textures of Antiquity which she "respects and interprets" and uses as a link between past and present.
