site.btaBezmer Air Base to Mark International Aviation Day by Open Day

The Bezmer Air Base near Yambol will hold an open day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 11 on the occasion of April 12, the World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day, BTA learnt from Serjeant Major Ani Limberova, PR officer of the Air Base.

Visitors will be able to view at close range the Su-25 ground attack fighters, the flight suits, and special-purpose and aircraft-servicing equipment. The air base museum will also be open to friends of aviation.

The second Bulgarian cosmonaut Alexander Alexander served at the Bezmer Air Base from 1974 until 1977, when he was selected for the second manned space mission that started on June 7, 1988.
