During a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov highlighted the excellent dialogue between Bulgaria and Jordan, which has been established in recent years, the Government press office said on Friday. Zhelyazkov noted that this dialogue creates the necessary conditions for deepening cooperation and unveiling its full potential.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the King’s visit will provide a strong boost to bilateral relations and offer an opportunity to discuss global and regional issues. He specifically highlighted the role of the Aqaba Process in fostering regional cooperation.
Zhelyazkov stressed Jordan’s crucial role as a stabilizing force in the Middle East and praised King Abdullah II’s efforts for peace in the region. According to Zhelyazkov, dialogue between regions is key to addressing shared challenges and threats such as terrorism, extremism, and instability.
The Prime Minister congratulated King Abdullah II on his policies supporting youth and stressed the importance of focusing on policies that offer opportunities and development for young people. He also noted the significance of collaboration in science and new technologies. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as defence industry, trade, education, tourism, and agriculture.
Zhelyazkov extended special greetings to Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, who has Bulgarian roots, and invited him to visit Bulgaria, adding that his visit would further promote bilateral cooperation and strengthen the friendship between the countries.
