The spring exhibition "Colours," one of two major events on the annual calendar of the Plovdiv Artists' Association (PAA), showcases over 100 works by local artists. Featuring paintings, graphics, sculpture, drawings, digital prints, and other visual forms, the exhibition reflects the creative energy, exploration, and personal style of dozens of artists.
The opening event was Thursday evening.
According to Panayot Panayotov, the PAA Chairman, the exhibition is not just a display of art but a powerful expression of emotions, moods, and messages that only colour can convey. "Colour is emotion, meaning, and atmosphere. It is a bridge between the visible and invisible, between reality and imagination, between matter and soul," Panayotov said. He emphasized that while each piece showcases the individuality of its creator, the exhibition also highlights a shared need to create, share, and experience through art.
This year’s spring exhibition, which traditionally opens before Palm Sunday and Easter, was inaugurated by Panayot Panayotov and Plovdiv's Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism, Plamen Panov. Panov vowed continued support from the local authorities for the Association's initiatives and projects.
Plovdiv girls' choir ensemble Evmolpeya, sang at the opening event, adding a special touch to the evening.
