A closed ministerial meeting on energy connectivity dialogues in support of the European Policy Community's regional partnerships for an improved energy transition will take place on Tuesday in Sofia with the participation of Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov, the press centre of the ministry said.

Representatives from the UK, Moldova, Hungary, Greece, Azerbaijan, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the industry involved will take part in the meeting organised by the Ministry of Energy.

Bulgaria presented this initiative on the margins of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku, Azerbaijan in November 2024. The concept supports deepening interregional cooperation for more sustainable, secure and clean energy systems.

Later in the day, Minister Stankov and the other participants will join the annual Energy Summit conference, organised by the Capital newspaper, where they will present the results of the ministerial meeting. The conference will be held at the Sofia Event Center.

As part of the event's programme, the Ministry of Energy and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria are organising a discussion on geothermal energy, which will be opened by Minister Stankov and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bulgaria, Simon van der Burg.
