The government will restart the project to build a tunnel under Shipka and the infrastructure leading to it because the project is important for everyone,  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev said during question time in Parliament on Friday in response to a question from MRF - New Beginning about the degree of implementation of the Shipka tunnel project and what actions and deadlines are foreseen for the preparation of the infrastructure on the southern side of the Balkan Mountain near Kazanlak, Southeastern Bulgaria.

"The realistic plan for this year is to build a large part of the route leading to the tunnel on the northern side. At the same time, it is critical that events take place on the south side, and for me the first priority here is the design and construction of the bypass of Kazanlak ", Donchev said.

He described the last four years as not good for the project for the tunnel under Shipka.
