Danail Atanasov's exhibition entitled Blues Painting will be unveiled at the Union of Bulgarian Artists' (UBA) gallery on 6 Shipka St here on Friday, the organizers said. The artist has dedicated this exhibition to the harmony in painting and music, which he believes are two inseparable arts.
The UBA said that Atanasov is the kind of artist who defends his modernist view of painting and consistently develops his personal style. They added: "Harmonious and beautiful, his paintings have a mostly contemplative quality and express a view of the self-worth of the painterly image."
Atanasov was born in Pernik, Western Bulgaria, in 1943. He has staged more than 40 solo exhibitions across Europe and the US. His works are owned by the National Art Gallery, museums in Spain and the US, and private collections.
