Epigraphic monuments reveal unknown pages of the First Bulgarian Empire's history (681 - 1018 AD) and constitute the main source of information about our ancestors' language and literacy, said Prof. Kazimir Popkonstantinov while presenting his report "Medieval Bulgarian writing: the contribution of epigraphy" at an international forum on the Cyrillic alphabet here on Monday.
