Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone with UK counterpart David Lammy on Monday, Turkish TV channel CNN Turk reported.

During the talks, the latest developments in the framework of the Russian-Ukrainian war were discussed, as well as the ongoing debates on the European security architecture. The foreign ministers pointed out that non-EU countries play an important role in ensuring Europe's security.

Bilateral relations, defence cooperation and the situation in Syria were also discussed.
