Vice President Iliana Iotova will open Bulgaria’s stand at the London Book Fair on March 11, the head of State’s Press Secretariat said on Monday. This is Bulgaria’s second consecutive year participating in the prestigious book fair, which is the second largest in the world after the New York Book Fair.
Organized under the auspices of the Vice President and at the invitation of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London, the Bulgarian stand will showcase renowned Bulgarian writers, some of whom have been translated into English, as well as translators, publishers and literary agencies. A series of meetings between Bulgarian and British writers, translators, and publishers, and London readers will be held at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and at Hatchards, London's oldest bookshop.
During her visit, Iotova will confer with representatives of the Bulgarian community and Bulgarian Sunday schools in the region. The Vice President will also meet with London Deputy Mayor for Children and Families, Joan McCartney, the press release said.
