A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute and the Institute of Marine Biology of Montenegro. The ceremony took place in the Coat of Arms Hall in the building of the Presidential Institution and was attended by Head of State Rumen Radev and President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, who is on a two-day visit here.
The document was signed by Mirko Djurovic, Director of the Institute of Marine Biology, and Prof. Christo Pimpirev, Director of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute.
“This memorandum is important because it shows that we can work together not only in our region, but also far away from the Balkans, and very successfully. To share common causes based on common values,” Rumen Radev said.
President Milatovic also described the memorandum as important because it will open opportunities for long-term exploration of the South Pole.
