Vazrazhdane is submitting a resolution to the European Parliament (EP) "against political repression in Bulgaria", party leader Kostadin Kostadinov told a press conference in Varna on Monday. "With the resolution, we want the EP to condemn the political repression in our country," he stressed, specifying that he expects support from MEPs from other EP groups as well.

He pointed out that the document will be submitted on behalf of Europe of Sovereign Nations.

He commented that "Bulgaria has four political prisoners at the moment", but that on Wednesday the parliamentary immunities of four more MPs from Vazrazhdane are to be voted on and direct arrest being requested for two of them. According to him, all this is happening with the sanction of the European Commission (EC).

The "political prisoners" are four men who are in remand after a Vazrazhdane-organized protest against the euro left the Europe House in central Sofia vandalized

Kostadinov also accused the EC of interfering in Romania's internal affairs due to the removal of Calin Georgescu from the presidential elections, warning of serious protests that will unfold in Romania due to the situation that had arisen. "The result of the EC and EU's interference in Syria's internal affairs is much more tragic," Kostadinov said, adding that atrocities are being committed in this country by the current rulers, but European institutions do not react, even though people are being killed because of their religion.

"For all these reasons, Vazrazhdane categorically raises the issue of a complete renegotiation and reformatting of the EU, because in its current form it is harmful to Bulgarian national interests and our country has no place in such a structure," Kostadinov stressed.

Regarding the upcoming adoption of the state budget by the National Assembly, he recalled that the party had made 38,235 proposals for changes to the budget. "In practice, we have submitted a new budget, with new fiscal discipline and new policies," he pointed out, commenting that exercising the constitutional right to submit proposals for changes is not sabotage.
