GERB-UDF has emerged as the leading political force across all age groups, while There Is Such a People has the youngest voter base, according to an exit poll by the Trend polling agency published on Monday.

The survey, funded by Nova Broadcasting Group and Euronews, reveals that GERB-UDF leads among people with secondary education and university degrees and those living in regional centers and small towns. Their largest support base is people aged between 40 and 60 from regional towns with secondary education.

Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria did better than average among voters under 40, Trend adds. Nearly two-thirds of its voters hold university degrees, and nearly one-third are based in Sofia. Women make up 58% of the coalition’s voter base.

Vazrazhdane did best among those aged between 40 and 59, with half of their supporters residing in regional centers.

There is Such a People has the youngest voter base, with 40% of its supporters under 40. Similarly, Morality, Unity, Honour, also has a higher proportion of young voters, with over one-fifth aged between 18 and 29.

Nearly half of those who voted for Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning are ethnic Turks, with 60% residing in villages and 22% in regional towns, according to Trend’s survey.

Just over two-thirds of votes the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms received came from ethnic Turks, with 80% of their voters living in villages.

A total of 63% of those who voted for BSP-Unified Left are over the age of 60, with most residing in regional centers and small towns.

The survey indicates that 65% of voters decided who to support before the start of the election campaign, 16% made their choice during the campaign, 9% in the final days, and 8% on polling day.
