Some 147,000 Bulgarians abroad have cast their votes in the October 27 snap parliamentary elections, according to data based on 97.22% of the tally sheets processed by the section election commissions outside Bulgaria, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. 

Polling day ended at 5 p.m. Bulgarian time on the West Coast of the United States and Canada.

Bulgarian nationals had the chance to vote in a total of 719 voting stations in 57 countries, with the largest number of them opened in Europe, the Ministry added.

The vote went off without a hitch, and Bulgarians were able to exercise their right to vote without impediments, the press release further read.
