The European Council announced the appointment of the new European Commission here on Thursday. The decision is taken by written procedure.
EU Member States appoint the Commission by qualified majority, the European Parliament (EP) press service said. On Wednesday, the EP approved the composition of the Commission. The new commissioners' term will last between December 1, 2024, and October 31, 2029.
