Commenting on the failed no-confidence vote against the Zhelyazkov cabinet, There Is Such a People [TISP] Deputy Floor Leader Stanislav Balabanov stated that the Government will continue moving forward in full momentum. Earlier on Thursday, the Cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov survived a no-confidence vote over its foreign policy with 54 MPs supported the motion and 150 voted against it, with no abstentions.

Balabanov added that the vote demonstrated the lack of an unified opposition. "The clear majority of 121 members will continue advancing the legislative agenda, which will shape the cabinet's four-year mandate," he added.

The TISP Deputy Floor Leader also commented on the foreign policy issue, saying it had been tied to a personal tragedy, and emphasized that personal tragedies should not be exploited for political gain. Balabanov was referring to the death of Bulgarian UN employee Captain Marin Marinov in Gaza in mid-March.

Balabanov thanked the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) - MRF for their decision to remain part of the majority. He noted that the next steps, regardless of the forthcoming convergent report, will be crucial for ensuring stability in the country and ensuring that institutions work in the interest of the people.
