Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov told journalists in Parliament on Thursday that his party has already written motives on corruption for its no-confidence vote against the Cabinet of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. Kostadinov said that Vazrazhdane will invite the parties who have supported their no-confidence vote, as well as Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria for general consultations. Later on Thursday, Parliament will vote on a no-confidence vote against the Zhelyazkov Cabinet, tabled by Vazrazhdane, MECh, and Velichie.

On the position of CC-DB Kostadinov commented that the parliamentary group of the coalition is “another spare tire of the government”. In his words, on some issues the ruling majority also receives support from MECh and Velichie. So the no-confidence vote fulfilled its purpose, because it took off the masks of some alleged oppositionists, and on the other hand it showed the fractures within the ruling coalition, Kostadinov said. With the new no-confidence vote, it will be seen whether the opposition's claims continue, he added.

Kostadinov said that he did not understand the criticism of MECh leader Radostin Vasilev to the motives of the first vote of no confidence. I don't know on what basis they claim to be dissatisfied with our motives, he said. Kostadinov expressed readiness to invite MECh for talks on a new vote of no confidence. There will also be an invitation to Velichie.

Kostadinov also commented on the issue of higher tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on goods imported to the US. He said that Bulgaria has “almost no trade” with the US and he does not expect this to seriously affect the country. "This trade war does not bother us," Kostadinov said. He noted, however, that it is an opportunity to rethink and renegotiate the way the European Union functions.
