At 19.0%, the year-on-year increase in industrial producer prices in Bulgaria in February 2025 was largest in the EU, the Statistical Office of the European Commission (Eurostat) reported on its website on Thursday. Month-on-month, industrial producer prices in Bulgaria rose by 2.5% in February 2025.
Industrial producer prices increased by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.3% in the EU, in February 2025, compared with January 2025. In January 2025, industrial producer prices grew by 0.7% in the euro area and by 0.8% in the EU.
In February 2025 compared with February 2024, industrial producer prices increased by 3.0% in the euro area and 3.1% in the EU.
The highest month-on-month increases in February 2025 were recorded in Estonia (9.5%), Romania (4.8%) and Bulgaria (2.5%). The largest decreases were observed in Ireland (4.9%), France and Slovakia (both 0.8%) and Slovenia (0.5%).
The highest year-on-year increases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Bulgaria (19.0%), Ireland (12.8%) and Estonia (12.7%). The largest decreases were observed in Luxembourg (5.6%), Lithuania (1.5%) and France (1.4%).
In February 2025, industrial producer prices in the EU for intermediate goods increased by 0.4%, for energy by 0.7%. The prices for capital goods increased by 0.2%, while those for durable consumer goods decreased by 0.1%. At the same time the prices for non-durable consumer goods increased by 0.2%.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.3%.
In the EU, in February 2025, compared with February 2024, industrial producer prices have increased by 1.0% for intermediate goods, and by the impressive 7.4% for energy. The prices for capital goods have increased by 1.7%, while for durable consumer goods by 1.0%. The prices for non-durable consumer goods have increased by 2.0%.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 1.4%.
