MECh leader Radostin Vasilev told journalists in Parliament on Thursday that his party will think twice whether to support no-confidence votes which sponsors cannot defend.

Vasilev said that he heard two or three substantiated statements from his party at the debate on the no confidence vote on Wednesday and a lot of empty talk from Vazrazhdane. Vasilev noted that his party has also prepared a motion of no-confidence in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, but the parliamentary group is still considering whether to table it now.

The group will seek support from everyone in the National Assembly who wants the government to be toppled. Vasilev said that his party, unlike Vazrazhdane, is not isolated. In his words, all opposition parties should be involved in the drafting of the motives for the no-confidence motion so that they are properly drafted and not easily refuted.

The government and the opposition are equally weak in this parliament, but MECh is strong enough, Vassilev added.

The motion of no confidence was submitted by the Vazrazhdane parliamentary group over the government's foreign policy, with the support of 54 MPs from Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh), Velichie, and Vazrazhdane.
