Kidflix, one of the largest pedophile platforms in the world, has been shut down in an international operation against child sexual exploitation.

Officers from Bulgaria's General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) together with colleagues from 38 countries worldwide were part of the global crackdown on Kidflix, which had almost two million users, the press centre of the Interior Ministry said on Thursday. The platform was used between April 2022 and March 2025.

Operation Stream was the largest ever effort against pedophile networks in the world. It was implemented from March 10 to 23 this year. The Cybercrime Directorate at GDCOC was the Bulgarian partner service that participated in the joint action. The investigation was coordinated by Europol and led by the State Criminal Police of Bavaria and the Bavarian Central Office for the Prosecution of Cybercrime.

The investigation identified almost 1,400 suspects worldwide. So far, 79 individuals have been arrested for sharing and distributing child sexual abuse material. Some of them not only uploaded and watched videos but also abused children. As a result of the joint police action, 39 child victims were given protection. The investigation continues.

A total of 1.8 million users worldwide logged on to the platform between April 2022 and March 2025. The server, which contained around 72,000 videos, was seized by German and Dutch authorities on March 11, 2025. Over 3,000 electronic devices have been seized with over 91,000 videos containing distributing child sexual abuse material.

The Bulgarian Interior Ministry added that Kidflix was created by a cybercriminal who generated huge profits from uploading and sharing content through the platform. Users made payments in cryptocurrencies, which were subsequently converted into tokens. Each video was uploaded in multiple versions – low, medium and high quality, allowing criminals to view the content and pay a fee to unlock higher quality versions.

In Bulgaria, officers of the GDCOC Cybersecurity Directorate arrested five men, 25 to 43 years old, for online sexual exploitation of 2-month to 14-year-old children.
