The Grigor Dimitrov Foundation is supporting the participation of two junior tennis players to in the Champ’Seed programme at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, led by French tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, the Grigor Dimitrov Foundation said on Thursday. 11-year-olds Kayra Aleksieva and Mitko Genov from Tennis Club Haskovo 2015 joined a week-long training session along with other tennis talents from around the world, accompanied by Grigor Dimitrov's father, Dimitar Dimitrov.

The young tennis players took part in tests, training, and friendly matches, all closely monitored by Bulgaria’s top tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, and Patrick Mouratoglou.

Aleksieva and Genov are currently undergoing a one-week training session at the Academy, after which, in a few months, they will be sent for a three-month preparatory course at the Academy. All expenses for the two young talents will be covered by Dimitrov’s foundation, which will continue its partnership with the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.

This is one of the primary initiatives of the Grigor Dimitrov Foundation. It started with the tennis club in Haskovo (Dimitrov’s hometown) following the tennis player’s decision to support his local tennis school. In the future, other children from across Bulgaria will also be sent to Mouratoglou’s academy.

At the Academy, the children had the opportunity to attend training sessions of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Naomi Osaka, Alexei Popyrin, Paula Badosa, among other tennis stars.
