Internationally renowned Austrian artist Francesco Ciccolella will open his exhibition Like Boiling Ice at the Lobster gallery of the L44 creative hub in Sofia on Thursday, April 3, the organizers wrote on Facebook. 

Francesco Ciccolella, a graphic artist, illustrator, and visual storyteller, brings his first exhibition to Sofia, exploring themes of resilience, transformation, and adaptability. Inspired by his journey to Iceland, the exhibition uses the ever-changing forms of water—ice, liquid, and vapor—as metaphors for our own ability to adapt to life’s unpredictable forces. Just as water shifts and transforms in response to its environment, we too evolve in the face of change, the organizers write. In Like Boiling Ice, Ciccolella blends digital precision with organic textures, creating a contrast between matte and shimmering surfaces that reflect the balance between control and fluidity. Water’s constant transformation mirrors our own journey of resilience, reminding us that adaptation is about embracing change rather than resisting it.

The organizers note that the exhibition has been specially created by Francesco for its debut in Sofia, inviting art lovers to reflect on transformation through the fluid language of water.

The exhibition will open at 6 pm and Francesco Ciccolella will be there in person to meet with exhibition-goers.
