The rebuilding Bulgarian team, led by Italian coach Gianlorenzo Blengini, won in the tie-break, with Asparuhov scoring 4 of his 12 points, including 2 aces. Petkov was Bulgaria's highest scorer with 20 points, while Grozdanov contributed an additional 14 points.
